Learning at home, in an eco-friendly way

If any one is so inclined, the homeschooling blog is back up and going with a great new writer at the wheel. Run over to the Home School Central to see what educational moments there are going on.

One of the latest posts touch a spot in my heart. Tree hugging hippie that I am, I just could not let a post titled Living and Learning Green pass me by. This is a great post that not only gives you a peak into the life of a homeschooling family, it also makes me envious at their current project: restoring a 4300 sq ft farm house that is 100 years old and had been abandoned. Not only are they rebuilding this beautiful house, there is also talk of sustainable living and eco-friendly homes. *Be still my pounding heart*

Homeschooling can definitely be environmentally friendly. Last month the homeschooling blog Mom Is Teaching took on Low Impact Week and showed how to homeschooling in a more sustainable way.

Aww…hey..come on over for a working vacation…;) I do think that homeschooling offers a unique opportunity to investigate options that we would other wise not have the time for. I just leave the latest copy of, Countryside, or Mother Earth News in the bathroom and pretty soon the 11 year old is building a solar oven… ;)
