If you haven’t gotten your taxes filed than you are LATE! Of course you already knew that but I just wanted to give a friendly reminder. We are some of the many that filed an extension this year. Our accountant finished our taxes on Monday, put them in a place my husband could come pick them up, and took off the rest of the week. We were really suprised to find that what we owe is WAY more than what we had planned on but since our accountant is MIA we will wait to talk to her next week.
Anyways, the hubby said I am in no way, shape, or form supposed to spend any money unless absolutely necessary for awhile. Even though I am super glad that he is responsible, that I get to stay home with the kids and not work, and that we absolutely will survive, I still get to pout right? Of course this is the day that I planned on going grocery shopping since we are out of everything. So now I get to be creative when planning our meals and daily activities for awhile. Baked beans and frozen veggies for dinner a couple days in a row never hurt anyone right? I have plenty of those! And I will be frequenting the public library-FREE, the zoo (we have a pass), and all our county parks-FREE for fun things to do. Oh, and I guess I won’t be buying a new outfit for our event this weekend. Kill me now.
Seriously, as much as I like to complain, I am so grateful for healthy kids, supportive family nearby, and lots of other luxuries that a lot of the world lives without. Help me out though and let me know some creative things you do with your family when money is low.

You call your nearest friend with three bored kids and plan a picnic!
I have found ways to save money by making sure I keep the air not to cool.(wear tank tops) the heat not to hot (wear undershirts).
Also hundreds of dollars are spent on eating out, drive throughs, starbucks etc. A huge expense is not planning meals ahead of time. (and I am including snacks and drinks.) If you have to have a junky fruit drink at least do kool-aid and save on the price of junky pop. And if cooking is a chore, make double , freeze it and have it the following week.
