Can’t Kick the Habit

mom-on-computer.jpgI do realize that what I am about to tell you might lower your opinion of me.  You might stop reading my blog and disown me altogether but I just have to get this guilty pleasure out in the open so here it goes…..I’m ADDICTED TO MYSPACE!  There it is, the news it out.  I’ll understand if you want to disregard all my previous posts with all the helpful parenting advice now that you know my little secret.  How could any so called “good” mother have a MySpace page????!!!!  :)

At first I refused my sister’s pleadings to join the site but she finally broke me down and I gave it a try.  It actually has been a great way to connect with old high school and college friends and friends that are out-of-town.  It’s a fun way to find new music and to use a little creative energy to make layouts, picture slide-shows, journal, etc.

Of course I have heard all the news about younger kids getting on MySpace and being tricked and stalked by predators.  There is also a lot of TRASH on the site.  Because of this I definitely wouldn’t recommend kids to take part in MySpace.

For me, it’s just a fun hobby.  My goal is to kick the habit by the time my kids are old enough to even know what MySpace is.  Let’s see, Lilly is 5 now so I probably have another good year or two before that happens.  ;)
