For the past year I have been trying to find a cure for my 2 year old’s bumpy skin. I finally broke down and took her to a dermatologist to find out what was the cause. According to the doctor she has a condition known as keratosis pilaris.Keratosis pilaris is a skin condition that causes little red bumps on the face, arms, and legs. I was told by my daughter’s doctor that it is from severe lack of moisture. Ok, so now I know what it is but I can’t figure out how to get it to go away! Little Lucy doesn’t seemed bothered by it but I have too many picture of her sweet little face all spotted and inflamed. I have tried some prescription lotions from the doctor but so far I’ve gotten no results. He has restricted her to Dove Sensitive Skin bar soap only. He also said that this condition tends to go away for many children when puberty hits. Sure, lets wait 10-11 years for that to happen.
I’ve done some research online only to find that most treatments are ineffective. I know there has got to be a way to get rid of this! If you have any suggestions or advice send them my way!
