Non-Compliant Patient

My husband is driving me nuts!  And I am positive that he would say I am driving HIM nuts!  He ended up having to have a tonsillectomy yesterday afternoon.  We thought he was going in to have one tonsil removed but it ended up that both tonsils AND his adenoids were infected so they all were taken out.

His ENT doc said he needed to take 2 weeks off from work, relax at home, and stick to a liquid diet gradually moving to soft foods.  I have a few friends who have had this surgery as adults and they all told me that recovery was horrible. One friend told me it was worse than childbirth!  Needless to say I was prepared to make the milkshakes and jello and help nurse my hubby back to health in time for Christmas.

So here we are a little over 24 hours later.  He has stopped his pain killers, has NOT rested much and is now eating tortilla chips!!  He is driving me insane because he won’t let me tell him what to do!!!

Maybe heis just Mr. Miraculous Recovery Man.  There are actually quite a few people praying for him.  But really, is it possible that he can already be feeling this well or is he headed for some trouble?  My head is telling me that the latter is the right answer.  I really want to call his doctor and tell on him but I must restrain myself.  Maybe I should just email him and tell him to read my blog.  ;)

    That is hilarious. Guys (myself included) just hate being told what to do…

    Hmmm… I half wonder how much that Hydrocodone was for pain, and how much of it was that the Dr. wanted to knock him out so he’d stay in bed!
