Really there can’t be a whole lot that is worse than the smell of urine in a mattress, right? I just cannot get my husband to get up and use the toilet!!! Just kidding. We had a surprise nighttime visit from my 2-year old last night who ended up not just snuggling the night away in our wonderful king sized bed but also left her mark on our mattress. The bed my girls share has a mattress pad cover which saves the day when accidents happen but ours does not. I am proud to say that both my 5 year old and 2 year old very rarely have accidents. Last night we weren’t so lucky. To make matters worse, we have a memory foam bed that seems to absorb things to the core.
I cleaned it with clorox and Lysol but the smell just won’t go away. I’m going to use this tip I found on Catalogs.com and try some vinegar and baking soda. I’ll let you know what happens. If you have any better ideas please let me know!!

I think Vinegar works for EVERYTHING!!!!!!! We had a wet bed a couple weeks ago and it took the smell out…can’t tell you about memory foam though. Good luck!!!
Vinegar was poured, baking soda is now on. Crossing my fingers!!!

remember how you were told that sol-u-mel does about anything by Lu Ann?
I looked it up and it also is suppose to take out all odors.
If it doesn’t work, go to a pet store and buy some of the urine-smell removing spray. They make it especially for pet accidents on carpet when it soaks into pads, but urine is urine!
I am happy to say that the vinegar and baking soda did the trick! The smell is gone!
