Have you ever had your computer shut down or had problems with your Internet provider? If you are like me you get VERY upset! There are so many things I rely on the Internet for.I know there are other methods than finding info via the internet such as grabbing a newspaper and checking movie times, watching the news to find out what the weather will bring, or driving from store to store to find the best prices. When you have one quick way to find almost everything you are looking for without even having to leave the house, you quickly become dependent.
Here are 3 different things on the good old world wide web that I have come to frequently use as a mom of two young kids.
- One resource I use frequently isKidsHealth. Anytime one of my kids start showing some kind of symptom of an illness that I’m not sure about or the doctor starts a certain kind of treatment for something I go get online and start to research. There are many great sites to check out for medical and health issues.
- And what would we do without Ebay? This online auction/marketplace has been great for getting some gently used Christmas gifts for the kids, buying very inexpensive school uniforms, getting hard to find items, and even making some extra cash selling clothes the kids have grown out of, dvd’s we don’t watch anymore, and much more. It’s like the world’s biggest garage sale!
- Last on my short list today is the online babysitting service I use, BabysitEase. This is a Cincinnati based company that finds and schedules trustworthy and reliable sitters to watch your kids just with a click of a button! I’m lucky enough to live near a lot of family which equals lots of free babysitting but when I’m in a pinch I know I can rely on BabysitEase.
These resources are just a drop of water in the ocean of vast information on the web that we mothers can use for our benefit. There are sites to find great crafts, upcoming family events in your area, music to download, etc. What are some that you use?
